Why Yoga??


    Body
Yoga is a complete exercise because it contains a 3 fitness benefits: strength training, aerobic, and flexibility. Unlike other exercises that concentrate on only one aspect, yoga utilizes all three simultaneously. Strength Training Yoga strengthens and builds all major muscle groups. Muscle burns fat! That means that yoga increases your ability to burn fat on your body. Aerobic Yoga increases heart rate and burn calories for a healthy heart and lungs and a slim waistline. Flexibility Yoga increases flexibility with smooth and calming movement. Flexibility decreases likelihood of injury

    Mind
• Yoga leads to a stable mind. Most people have racing thoughts through out their busy day. Yoga is a time to stabilize and calm the mind with breath and focus. • Yoga combines deep breathing with movement. This acts as a mind calming meditation as body and mind unite. • Yoga builds power over the body, which leads to power over the mind.

    Spirit
• Students often feel relaxed and energized after a yoga session. • Having this time to energize the spirit will improve other aspects of student’s lives because they can take that lasting feeling from class.
