STAR STUDENTS

Alberto Bonilla

Alberto is one of our most prominent students. Having accomplished his dream goal for the year of 2007 of earning the title of National Champion at the 2007 Junior Olympics, he will go on to compete in the Las Vegas Open this coming August. Alberto’s past contains a young boy of hardly 14 years, who was had lain in totally immobilization for three months in the Hospital of Utah. After another three months of rehabilitation, taken by an illness which the doctors never determined, he left all thoughts of his paralysis and ran straight back to the competition floor. Today, we see him achieving so many succeses that have been made by his faith, certainty, discipline, and perseverance taught to him by Taekwondo, who he himself says is the passion of his life, and for that reason as soon as he could mobilize on his own means returned immediately to the classes. According to Alberto, those six months without Taekwondo was an eternity, and a cruel punishment due to the fault of his disease. Master Melany Moras finishes up saying, “Alberto is one of those exceptional kids, who knows what he wants, and nothing, not even paralysis will get in the way of his triumph.”
