Black Belt Essay
By David Pina, Age 9
David Pina is one of our youngest black recommended belt. At age 9, he is attempting to test for his Black-Recommended Belt. This is his Black Belt Essay for his Testing which he took in June 2008. He is now successfully a Black Belt Recommended.
I want to be a black belt because little children will look up to me as a hero. Other kids will say, "He must have worked hard." And I will say, "You're definetely right." Another reason I want to be a black belt is because people will not want to fight me as much.
Including in tournaments. Another reason I want to be a black belt is because I like fighting people. In tournaments, there are higher divisions, and I want to have as much experience as Alberto. (Alberto is already a first Dan Black Belt from Amys Martial Arts 2008 State Champion) One of the biggest reasons is, I want to represent the U.S.A in the Olympic Games.
I also want to be a black belt so I can have my own school. I give my word to all my teachers, masters, and parents that I will not use my skills outside of this school. I will only use my skills if someone attacks me and I will defent myself and others. I also want to be a teacher so I can pass down the benefits of the things my teachers have taught me.
Taekwondo is my life. I treat it with respect. When I have my black belt, I will try to help the little dragons and try to help the beginner belts to get better. I will try to have excellent attendance, outstanding attention 100% effort. I will try to be an official leader, a team player, and be a super achiever and never stop doing Taekwondo, and have better discipline. I'll get better at my jumpiing back kick and I'll do double nuinchakus.
I'll try to beat all of my competitors even if it is an exhibition match.
The reason I want to go to the Olympic games is to have fun at doing the sport and until I am old enough to have my own school I will work hard at Amys Martial Arts.
